Water Olympics Storytime July 2

Isle Royale National Park Interpretive Ranger Jordan Kibat will offer a “Water Olympics” Storytime on Thursday, July 2, at 10:15 a.m. He will read stories, have children perform simple water experiments, and kids can use fingerpaints to illustrate their favorite water scenery. Creative Writing Workshop July 2

Rekha Ambardar will present a Creative Writing Workshop for adults and young adults that will focus on building conflict in the short story. The workshop will take place Thursday, July 2, at 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Read the details here.

Finnish Woodcarving Demonstration July 6

Pete Olson of Tapiola will demonstrate how to make traditional Finnish woodcarvings and crafts on Monday, July 6, at 7:00 p.m. at the Portage Lake District Library. He will bring the tools he uses to turn blocks of cedar into beautiful works of art. Read the details here.
