The J. R. Van Pelt Library at Michigan Tech has a useful collection of materials covering technology and the sciences, as well as many other subjects. The fine collection of the MTU Archives and Copper Country Historical Collections is an excellent resource for historians and genealogists.
Finlandia University – Hancock, Michigan
The Sulo & Aileen Maki Library at Finlandia University has collections that consist of more than 50,000 items including, magazines, videos, compact discs, audiotapes, slides, and audio-visual equipment. Areas of emphasis include Finnish/Finnish American ethnic studies, religious studies, nursing, physical therapy, social and behavioral sciences, education, business, art/design, and literature.
The Voyager online catalog used by the Maki Library also contains holdings of the libraries of Northern Michigan University, Lake Superior State University, and Gogebic Community College.
