PLDL joins the Foundation Center's Cooperating Collection Network!

Portage Lake District Library has joined the Foundation Center's Cooperating Collection Network with the help of the Keweenaw Community Foundation and Michigan Technological University. As a member, we are able to bring you a variety of tools for grant research and development. All of these materials are available for use within the library during normal library hours.

The core of this collection consists of the two major databases, Foundation Grants to Individuals Online and The Foundation Directory Online Professional. The collection also includes a number of reference works included in the Foundation Center section of our Reference area.

In addition to the research materials themselves, a variety of tutorials and training materials are available. We have linked a number of them on our Finding Information Page. There is also a complement of free and "for-pay" Online training Courses provided.

Finally, you will not only have our staff to help with these new materials, but you will also have the benefit of a dedicated online reference librarian at the Foundation Center to help with the really tough questions. The answer is usually only a few hours away by email.
