Friends of the Portage Lake District Library
| The Friends of the Portage Lake District Library is a wonderful group of volunteers who enhance the library by providing money, materials and equipment for special library services. While the Friends group is a separate organization from the library, it works closely with the library staff and board to help make the library better for our communities. |

‘CINCO de MAYO’ update Hi everyone, I phoned Karvakko’s Market and Econo Foods this morning and they very enthusiastically said yes to providing salsa and chips for the Cinco de Mayo event. They had heard about our event and are glad to have been asked to participate. I asked the Co-op and World Foods last week and they also are happy to join the fun. Sandy will ask Jim’s Foodmart later this morning, and we are certain they will say yes. There is still no word from Carmelitas, though, but MaryFran will keep trying. Anthony will provide his fabulous selection of Mexican and Latin music for us again. I have the decorations and the tablecloths, and the fliers will be made today. The media release has been sent out. Who is putting together baskets for the winners? Please let me know how that is progressing. I am making one of the baskets and am filling it with south of the border items. Who is bringing limeade and lemonade and are you bringing pitchers? We will need four pitchers. I have none, but could borrow some. Please let me know soon. Thanks for your help! Chris |
